What an infuriating interview. It feels like he’s so close to getting it a couple times before he reminds you “no no I actually don’t get it, trump just need to listen to *me* instead of those other wrong people.”
I had the same feeling. Between frustration and anger at his comments, I would see these glimpses of him every so slightly "getting it," but then he'd continue and you realize that he does not fully grasp the complexities of the issues. He also has no idea of the real and serious danger we all face.
His take on LCR has some validity. That group is trying so hard to get in good with the establishment, but what that group fails to realize is that the establishment no longer has the power. The immense power that Trump harnesses is grassroots populism and anger from those who have long felt excluded from rarified Republican circles, just like this person being interviewed.
This interview makes me very sad. When I see the great damage that Trump is already inflicting on the public, I wonder how anyone with any sense or morality could support him. Open your eyes and look at the lawless way he is enriching himself with the presidency.
The law is the law and they "can not" change gay marriage. Until they do, and the Supreme Court backs it! Then in the LAW will be you and your husband will be no longer. Or are you counting on being grandfathered in and the following queers behind you just do not get to have what you have? Which means you will become true republican, benefits for me but not thee. I really hope you do not find this out, but I think you will.
This is what really got me too. Roe v Wade was exactly as "sealed and signed" but still got overturned. More than one Justice has been vocally opposed to marriage equality, signaling a willingness to overturn Obergefell. The dude has his head in the sand and just thinks it's nighttime.

Peter Boykin is completely unqualified to comment on anything transgender. How do I know this? His own words in this interview. He has no idea what he is talking about. And I’m not transgender either but the fallacies in this are ridiculous. Go educate yourself and quit embarrassing us. Plus when they come for the gays they’re coming for you too. Heritage Foundation has no tolerance for anything other than patriarchal cis hetero dominance over women and gay men don’t pass muster. We are fighting religious fanatics voting for lunatics giving the extremely wealthy whatever they want. The pub vs dem and where does pothole money come from days are over. This is about survival. I actually really appreciate this interview because I have been struggling how ANYONE could vote for Trump and this tells me one version.
I don’t think we will get anywhere with name calling and vilification, even though we are angered to tears at the naïveté disguised as knowledge.
Thought provoking interviews and questions such as you have posed here are the only way to help others understand, or at least to hear facts surrounding Donald Trump et al. We have to remain uncloseted, determined, protective and yet willing to ask and hear answers to questions such as these. There are bad things coming and we can only help educate and communicate if we want to have any hope.
